Heroines Of Today, Sexual Abuse Survivor Stories

Everyone has heard real life situations where a person is sexually abused by another. These very disturbing events have been receiving a lot of attention for decades but still have not been totally stopped yet. However, it is very inspirational to hear about sexual abuse survivor stories and how they moved on with their life.


One known heroine is Eve Ensler or most commonly known as the maker of the play Vagina Monologue. Miss Ensler suffered as a child but escaped the punishment and grew up to be a great playwright. The plays she made was her way of bringing hope to those experience the same thing.


Music sensation Tina Turner also suffered a similar tragedy. This time, Mrs. Turner was abused by her own manager and husband Ike Turner. He would always force her to have sex with him and then would proceed to beat her up. She did leave him some time after and publicly exposed the truth.


Even Teri Hatcher of Desperate Housewives was not safe from this tragedy. When she was a child, her uncle would rape her and threatened her if she told the truth. Eventually when she became a full fledged adult, she released the truth publicly.


Of course the most famous story comes from the most influential person in the world, Oprah Winfrey. As a child, Oprah was beaten, raped, and verbally abused by her stepfather. Eventually, she was able to escape all the violence and went on to become extremely popular in showbiz. With her show, she helps many people especially other survivors of these situations.


So as one may see, there are so many people who share their sexual abuse survivor stories and have soared into the world. No matter what bad thing happens, a person can always pull himself out as long as he believes. If these people can do it, anyone can.
