Buying A Lace Front Wig

Celebrities like Tyra Banks and Beyonce are the primary reason lace wigs have become so popular among so many female wig users worldwide. The fact that black women are the primary users for this type of wig is another strong indicator that\’s true; considering of course that they\’re also the ones who need lace wigs most.

But is that enough? Is it just because of celebrities that these wigs shoot for the starts in terms of sales? No. Certainly not. The sheer lace used in their construction is providing the end user with an extremely natural look. It wouldn\’t be an exaggeration to say that these wigs are practically undetectable, especially when glued around the entire perimeter.

As almost every other type of wig, lace wigs can use synthetic hair or human hair or a blend of both. Before that though you should understand the difference between full lace and front lace wigs.

Those wigs that only have lace in the front hairline, often knotted with baby hair, are called lace front or front lace wigs. The back and the sides of these wigs use some other, more durable material like polyuerathane or monofilament. As of those facts, lace front wigs are cheaper than full lace ones and, at the same time, more durable.

Full lace wigs on the other hand, are only build with a sheer lace. That fact allows styling throughout the wig without risking the wig to be detected. Also, as there is only lace, these wigs are more breathable, more lightweight and as a result, more comfortable than lace front wigs. However, for the same reason, they are not as durable and are more expensive.

After having decided on the type of lace you want to acquire, you need to decide on the type of hair as well. Whether it\’ll be synthetic hair or human hair.

If you do not want to spend much or if you only want to wear your wig occasionally, you should probably consider going for synthetic hair for your first purchase. Synthetic hair are unfortunately easy to go bad after a while but they are very cheap to compensate.

If your budget allows it though, consider buying a human hair wig. You will be surprised with the natural feel and look of these wigs, not to mention how durable they are. Also, they are pretty much treated the same way as your own hair so there\’s not much to learn about maintaining them. That doesn\’t mean they don\’t need maintenance though. On the contrary, human hair wigs are in need of constant care and attention, they need to be shampooed and dried like your own hair. These wigs may last more than a year if you take good care of them.

Those are the primary categorizations for lace wigs and definitely the key variables determining a lace wig purchase. Lace wigs, full lace or front lace, come in an extremely wide variety of sizes, colors and types. There are even celebrity inspired lace wigs to choose from!
